If you arent sure if it can be engraved or cut, contact us and ask! You would be amazed what can be done with a laser. Check out our store for samples and some ready made products.

Lithophanes were first adopted in the western world in the 1820’s by skilled craftsman and made from porcelain. The craftsman would carve an image into (usually) white porcelain so that when light was shown through the object it would display a gray-scale image.

Today we are able to create amazingly detailed lithophanes using technology. At Matter Mill we take any photo and create a lithophane using 3D printed white PLA (Polylactic Acid) plastic. The results are quite unique and will be sure to make an impression.

3D Printed Products and Prototypes

We all have ideas, and often we do not act on them. We wait around until inevitably someone else has created something just like we had dreamed of. Why wait? All you need is an idea and help from Matter Mill. Lets work together to make your idea a reality through the process of additive manufacturing. Whether it is art or invention, we can work together to make it happen!

We currently employ 2 techniques of 3D printing:

  • FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) This form of 3D printing allows us to create quite accurate and functional plastic parts and models layer by layer.
  • mSLA (Masked Sterolithography) This form of 3D printing creates incredibly detailed small to medium size objects. This is our preferred method for printing miniatures and figurines.
